Response to owner: In the owners response it makes it appear it is possible that it could be a plumbing issue. It was confirmed by a plumber that there were no plumbing issues. So the roof was the cause of the leak. EDIT: They contacted me after seeing my review and have repaired the water spot on my ceiling. They also had my roof inspected again to ensure no further defects of new roof. Poor communication and my roof was leaking a couple weeks after the replacement. They did come back and look at roof leak, but they left without talking to me. I have not been able to get a response about getting my ceiling fixed where there is now water damage. I also have yet to receive the paper work about my warranty.

Expert Mold Removal in Somerset, KY
Mold removal in Somerset homes starts with finding where moisture is entering the structure. Somerset's seasonal swings from humid summers to wet winters create conditions where mold takes hold in basements, crawl spaces, attics, and wall cavities. Older housing stock in the area is especially prone to hidden growth behind drywall and inside insulation. At Thoroughbred Roofing, we inspect the full scope of the problem before any work begins. We contain the affected area to stop spores from spreading to clean parts of the home. Contaminated porous materials like drywall and insulation are removed and disposed of properly. We then clean structural surfaces and run HEPA air filtration to clear airborne spores. The moisture source driving the growth is addressed as part of every job. Without fixing that source, mold returns. If you see staining, smell a musty odor, or had a recent roof leak or plumbing issue, call Thoroughbred Roofing to schedule an inspection in Somerset.

Mold Removal FAQ
Common questions about mold removal in Somerset, KY.
You likely need professional mold removal if you see visible staining, smell a persistent musty odor, or recently had a roof leak or water intrusion in your Somerset home. Surface cleaning alone does not address mold that has spread into drywall, insulation, or wall cavities.
Mold removal covers any area where moisture has been present, including basements, crawl spaces, attics, bathrooms, and wall cavities. In Somerset homes, attics and crawl spaces are common problem areas after roof leaks or poor ventilation.
Mold can return if the moisture source is not fixed as part of the removal process. Thoroughbred Roofing addresses the moisture pathway on every Somerset job so treated areas are not re-contaminated.
In most Somerset homes, occupants can remain during removal when the affected area is properly contained. For larger infestations involving multiple rooms or significant airborne spore levels, vacating the work area is the safer choice.
Yes, a roof leak is one of the most common causes of attic and ceiling mold in Somerset homes. Water that sits in insulation or on wood framing creates the exact conditions mold needs to grow.
Professional mold removal in Somerset includes containment, controlled removal of contaminated materials, HEPA filtration, and treatment of the moisture source. Cleaning visible mold yourself does not remove spores embedded in porous materials like drywall or insulation.
