Response to owner: In the owners response it makes it appear it is possible that it could be a plumbing issue. It was confirmed by a plumber that there were no plumbing issues. So the roof was the cause of the leak. EDIT: They contacted me after seeing my review and have repaired the water spot on my ceiling. They also had my roof inspected again to ensure no further defects of new roof. Poor communication and my roof was leaking a couple weeks after the replacement. They did come back and look at roof leak, but they left without talking to me. I have not been able to get a response about getting my ceiling fixed where there is now water damage. I also have yet to receive the paper work about my warranty.

Expert Mold Remediation in Somerset, KY
Mold remediation in Somerset homes starts with finding the source, not just the stain. Somerset's seasonal swings from humid summers to cold winters push moisture into attics, basements, crawl spaces, and wall cavities where it sits undetected. At Thoroughbred Roofing, we inspect both visible and hidden areas using moisture detection tools to map the full extent of growth. Once we locate the source, we contain the affected zone with physical barriers and negative air pressure to stop spores from spreading. Contaminated porous materials like drywall and insulation are safely removed and bagged. Non-porous surfaces are cleaned and treated to discourage regrowth. Air scrubbers with HEPA filtration run throughout the process to reduce airborne spore counts. We also address the moisture problem driving the growth, because mold returns when the root cause stays in place. If you see discoloration, smell something musty, or recently had a roof leak or plumbing issue, call us to schedule an inspection in Somerset.

Mold Remediation FAQ
Common questions about mold remediation in Somerset, KY.
Visible mold staining, a persistent musty odor, or a recent water event like a roof leak are clear signs you need professional help in Somerset. Surface cleaning alone will not remove mold that has grown into drywall, insulation, or wood framing.
Yes, we remediate mold in Somerset homes where roof leaks or poor attic ventilation created the moisture problem. We inspect the full affected area, not just the visible stain.
We use physical containment barriers and negative air pressure in Somerset homes to keep mold spores isolated to the work area. Air scrubbers with HEPA filters run throughout the job to capture airborne spores.
Porous materials that cannot be fully cleaned are removed, double-bagged, and disposed of off-site. This prevents cross-contamination to other parts of your home.
Mold can return in Somerset homes if the moisture source is not fixed as part of the remediation process. We identify and address the root moisture problem so the conditions that fed the mold no longer exist.
For larger or more widespread mold jobs in Somerset, staying out of the work area during active remediation is strongly advised. Your remediation team will walk you through what areas to avoid and when it is safe to return.
