Expert Site Preparation in Somerset, KY

Site preparation is the first real step in any construction project in Somerset. Before framing, pouring, or building can start, the land itself has to be ready. At Thoroughbred Roofing, our site preparation work covers land clearing, grading, soil stabilization, excavation, and drainage planning. We remove trees, stumps, rocks, and debris. Then we grade and compact the soil so it can carry the weight of your structure without shifting or settling. Somerset properties can sit on varied terrain with clay-heavy soils that hold water after heavy rain. That makes proper grading and drainage planning especially important here. Water that pools near a foundation causes long-term damage. We shape the land so runoff moves away from your build area. Whether you are starting a new home, an addition, or a commercial structure, we assess the site first and work to a clear scope. Call Thoroughbred Roofing to schedule your Somerset site evaluation today.

Yes, we handle site preparation for residential projects throughout Somerset. Our work covers land clearing, grading, excavation, and drainage planning for new homes and additions.

Site preparation includes clearing vegetation and debris, grading the land, compacting the soil, and setting up drainage. These steps make your Somerset property safe and stable before any building begins.

Somerset soils can include clay-heavy ground that holds water after rain, which puts pressure on foundations. Proper grading during site preparation directs that water away from your structure before it causes damage.

Yes, even smaller builds in Somerset need cleared, graded, and compacted ground to support the structure safely. Skipping this step often leads to soil movement, water problems, and structural issues later.

Response to owner: In the owners response it makes it appear it is possible that it could be a plumbing issue. It was confirmed by a plumber that there were no plumbing issues. So the roof was the cause of the leak. EDIT: They contacted me after seeing my review and have repaired the water spot on my ceiling. They also had my roof inspected again to ensure no further defects of new roof. Poor communication and my roof was leaking a couple weeks after the replacement. They did come back and look at roof leak, but they left without talking to me. I have not been able to get a response about getting my ceiling fixed where there is now water damage. I also have yet to receive the paper work about my warranty.

We called Thoroughbred for a quote and Shawn came out and gave us a very reasonable quote. Much less than the other quotes we got actually. We were super impressed when the crew showed up and showed out and did an amazing job! We highly recommend this company to our friends and family!

Was referred to this company by a friend of mine after the insurance company denied my claim and am very happy I made the call. They were able to secure me a full approval and then did an excellent job on the install. Always had issues with our chimney flashing but they got it all changed out (with copper) and supplied us with plenty of pics from during the install. Great communication and attention to detail. Would highly recommend them, especially if you need help with a claim.

I love how they didn’t push anything on us. Just gave us the facts and options. If you’re looking for a roofing company that communicates and actually shows up when they say, go with these guys.
